This didn’t start
as a business idea
I’m a carer for my disabled daughter. For a long time I thought the exhaustion I felt — the kind that doesn’t lift, even after a good night’s sleep — was just part of that. Something carers dealt with, quietly, because that’s what you do.
Then I started talking to friends. Women who aren’t carers — mothers, wives, women building careers or businesses alongside everything else. And I realised something I hadn’t expected: they were exhausted too. Not for the same reason, but from the same source — the sheer weight of everything they were holding, mostly invisibly, mostly unacknowledged.
The mental load. The admin of running a household, a family, a life. The remembering, the anticipating, the managing of everyone and everything — carried without ever really putting it down.
I realised this wasn’t a carer thing. It was a woman thing. And once I saw it, I couldn’t unsee it. Recover Rest Reset came from that realisation — a place for every woman quietly running the show, whoever and whatever that show is for her, who has never once been told it’s okay to stop.
